Barkaat joined JKC Lawyers as a paralegal in February 2023, after being called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 2022. Since starting at JKC Lawyers, he has gained extensive experience in complex children Act and Family Law act matters. 

Prior to joining JKC Lawyers, Barkaat completed his LLM in International Law: crime justice and human rights and trained as an American Death Row Caseworker, whilst being a pen pal for a death row inmate in America. 

Outside of work, Barkaat enjoys travelling and painting.
