Sherry Thakur - Member and Solicitor

Sherry is a Member of the LLP and is the Practice Manager. She is responsible for the firm’s Compliance and Finances. She is also the Training principal.

Sherry specialises in Commercial and Civil Litigation and all aspects of Family and Children Law. She undertakes her own advocacy which she enjoys.

She has also been the instructed solicitor in matters that have been before the High Court, The Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

She is an active member of the local community and provides free legal advice at local centres and women’s refuges to provide help to those who do not have the means to instruct solicitors.

Daksha Dodhia - Mediator and Solicitor

Daksha qualified in 1992 and has practised family law for over 20 years. She has worked with Jane Kaim Caudle since 1998. Daksha prides herself on the service that she provides to her clients. Her approach is compassionate whilst being proactive.

Panay Vassiliou - Senior Solicitor

Panay studied at Exeter University and qualified in 2002.   Since qualifying he has worked exclusively in Family law. Panay is hardworking, determined, reliable, self-motivated and disciplined.  Panay is committed to supporting clients throughout their case to ensure that the best possible outcome/settlement is achieved.

Panay specialises in all areas of Family law for married couples, registered civil partners and cohabiting couples, particularly dealing with financial matters on relationship breakdown.

Panay has a particular interest in the law relating to financial settlements upon divorce or dissolution of civil partnerships and cohabiting couples.

His recent work includes: Financial order claims for medium to high net worth clients and advising in relation to business, company shares and pensions as part of the financial settlement by liaising with other professionals on behalf of his clients.

Jas Sandhu - Solicitor

Jas Sandhu is a Solicitor who qualified in 2006. Jas aims to provide an excellent service and to show objectivity and compassion in what is a fast moving and complex area of family law.

Jas has extensive experience in Private and Public Law Children proceedings representing parents, grandparents and relatives. Jas also represents victims of Domestic Violence in seeking injunctive relief.

Jas has represented parents abroad with an international element to include Habitual Residence and Transfer of Proceedings under Article 15 of Brussels IIR.

Jas is currently working towards being accredited on the Law Society’s Children panel.

Harold Berwin - Consultant

Harold Berwin is a Solicitor with over 40 years experience including in the City of London, where he is a Freeman.

Harold specialism includes commercial litigation, family, employment and contentious probate.

Other Areas
In parallel to his legal practice, Harold has held various directorships, including an NHS Trust and has sat on a Valuation Tribunal and acted as an Adjudicator in landlord and tenant disputes.

Harold has also travelled abroad extensively in order to recover assets for the victims of white collar fraud.  Harold spearheaded a campaign on behalf of numerous patients to introduce compulsory insurance for doctors and operatives in the area of cosmetic surgery.

Miraj Shah - Consultant

Having completed his Law degree at University of Warwick, Miraj went on to obtain a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course. Miraj has over 10 years’ experience in civil and commercial litigation/dispute resolution.

Over the years, he has dealt with several complex, high value High Court and County Court matters, to include representing other solicitors firms and barristers. He also has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution. His primary focus is on protecting his client’s best interests, ensuring that disputes are resolved quickly and cost effectively. Miraj has a very loyal and diverse client base.

Saira Haroon - Trainee Solicitor

Saira is a Trainee Solicitor who joined JKC Lawyers in January 2015. Saira assists Jas Sandhu and Miraj Shah. Saira gained an upper second class honours in Business and Law at Kingston University. She went on to complete the postgraduate diploma in Law at Kingston University.

Saira has previously undertaken casework in Civil Litigation to include professional negligence and industrial disease. She also has experience in dealing with immigration matters. She has worked on both public law children and private law children matters. Including a complex care matter and contentious probate dealt with at the High Court. She has further obtained injunctive relief for Clients.

Other Areas
Saira is a keen advocate who enjoys conducting advocacy for vulnerable clients. Saira ensures that she is always available, friendly and ready to help find the best solution for clients.

Outside of work
Saira has a love for animals especially cats and enjoys socialising.
